The Arkansas Department of Education requires schools to conduct certain drills throughout the school year. You are familiar with fire and tornado drills however, one of the newer drills is called an Intruder Drill. This week students will be engaged in lessons that teach the A.L.I.C.E. method (Alert, Lockdown, Inform, Counter and Evacuate). These lessons are designed to help children know how to keep themselves safe if ever faced with a life-threatening event at school. These lessons will culminate in practicing an intruder drill. Your child(ren) may likely come home talking about the method and the drill. It is important that you know what we are teaching in response to keeping our students and staff safe at Leverett Elementary.

The Salvation Army has an outreach program for the Holidays. This is called the Angel Tree, and Angel Tree appointments will begin this week - September 14-18, 2020 between 9- 12 and 1-5. Appointments will be given on a first call, first serve basis and will be done strictly by phone. Contact The Salvation Army of Fayetteville at (479)- 521-2151.

We will be distributing Chromebooks on Friday morning from 9:00am-10:30 am in the car rider line in the back of the school off of Garland Avenue. If you already have a chromebook from last year, you will continue to use that same Chromebook.

Leverett Parents of Kindergarten and 1st grade VIRTUAL and HYBRID students: We will be distributing iPads on Friday afternoon from 12:00-1:00pm in the car rider line in the back of the school off of Garland Avenue. If you are a 1st Grader with a Chromebook we will swap out for an iPad . All traditional 5 day students will use their devices while at school during the week. We look forward to seeing you!
